Shoaib Akhtar to play ODI and T20 matches: Afridi
LAHORE: Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said that it would not be difficult for fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar to adjust himself with international cricket. However, it has been planned to play him One-day and Twenty20 Internationals instead of Test matches.

While talking with media on Tuesday here at the Gaddafi Stadium, Shahid Afridi said that the Asia Cup is certainly a difficult tournament but young players would be given chance to play with seniors.

The allrounder said that Umar Gul is not fit for the Asia Cup but after attending the training camp he would be ready to play on the tour of England.

He said that Shoaib Akhtar performed well in domestic cricket but care would be taken for playing him.

Afridi feels that whatever was said about Shoaib Malik is now a part of the past. What he said before the investigation committee was those things which he already said to Malik.

The national team captain said that the series at home ground is very useful but he does not consider himself unfortunate that the team is not playing at home under his captaincy.

He said that if he succeeds to make his team one unit and bring fighting spirit in the team then he would consider himself the best captain.
