Pak squad for Asia Cup today LAHORE: Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the Asia Cup cricket tournament will be announced today. However, fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is not likely to be included in the national team. The Asia Cup will be held from June 15 in Sri Lankan city of Dambula. Shoaib Akhtar and Shoaib Malik underwent a fitness test yesterday here at the National Cricket Academy but sources said that Shoaib Akhtar is not likely to be selected while some members of the team management and the selection committee are not in favour of taking Shoaib Malik in the team. Players, except captain Shahid Afridi and vice-captain Salman Butt, being considered for the team are Kamran Akmal, Imran Farhat, Shahzaib Hasan, Umar Amin, Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Shoaib Mailk, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Irfan, Abdul Razzaq, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman and Wahab Riaz. |
