WAPDA’s Zahid wins Tour de Pakistan
KARACHI: Zahid Gulfam of WAPDA won the Tour de Pakistan cycle race while the final stage of the race was won by Asad Mahmood of Pakistan Army here on Saturday.

The participants of the final stage traveled from Hyderabad to Karachi.

Asad achieved success with a big margin as he crossed the distance in four hours, 31 minutes and seven seconds.

He was followed by Abdul Wahab of Sindh and Saleem of Balochistan.

WAPDA’s Zahid Gulfam won the overall top position in the race, covering the distance of 1,650 km in 46 hours, 13 minutes and nine seconds.

Nisar Ahmed of Sui Southern Gas Company came second with 46 hours, 14 minutes and 19 seconds while Afghanistan’s Hashmatullah obtained third position.

Zahid winning the race is entitled to receive a cash prize of $2,500.



The prize distribution ceremony will be held this evening here at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
