Islamabad schools hold Games with AkA slogan ISLAMABAD: The schools in the federal capital organized games with the slogan of ‘Aman ki Asha’ in a bid to broadcast the message of peace and restoration of ties between Pakistan and India, Geo News reported Sunday. Pakistan’s top tennis star Sarah Mehboob formally started the Peace Games by lighting a lamp here at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium. Hasan Ali, student of second grade in Roots School system waved the flag to start the Games attended by hundreds of students from various educational institutions. Little children staged tableaus and various skits based on peace song. The students gave an excellent performance in various categories of games including Judo Karate, Jumping and different sprints. State Minister for Information Samsam Bukhari gave glowing tribute to schools and students in connection with holding the Games. Lauding the passion of students for boosting the Indo-Pak contacts, he said Pakistan is furthering the cause of peace restoration with India quite seriously. Awards were distributed among the successful students at the end of the Games. |
